When you move to India with IntlMOVE LLC, there will many new customs and a whole new way of life.

The people of India have many different traditions and cultural norms, which can be very daunting when you first move overseas.

However, the people of India are very kind and welcoming if you are willing to open up and give the country a chance.

If you are an expat living in India, you will have to get used to the natural habits of the Indian locals.

IntlMOVE LLC has put together some tips for dealing with experiences you can expect to have when moving to India.

These tips should help you get accustomed to your new way of life overseas.

Personal Space

When you move to India, you will notice that people are very close to their neighbors and family.

You might feel that your personal space is being invaded, but this is just the normal way of life in India.

Extended families often live in very small houses together, so personal space is not something most people in India are used to having.

Some people in India, especially in smaller cities, will be very curious about you if you are a native of a Western country.

The people of India might confront you with questions that you deem to be very personal.

Do not get defensive because they are not being rude.

The best way to handle these types of questions is to ignore them and politely transition into a new topic of conversation.

In some areas where people are not used to seeing Westerners, you may experience a lot of stares.

Again, nobody is trying to be rude.

You are not used to India and the people of India are not used to you.

Be Aggressive at Work

In India, the boss will be responsible for his employees’ work.

You might hold a position of authority in India, so you will have some major responsibilities.

If you are receiving work from your employees that is not acceptable, you need to be firm.

Remain patient and kind, but let your employees know what is to be expected of them.

You will be responsible for keeping them on task, so this is much different than in the United States.

Each day make sure your employees have completed the items on their task list.

In India, employees look for guidance from their bosses rather than just being proactive.

You cannot change the cultural norms of India, so it is best to accept and adapt.

Be Patient

When you move to India with IntlMOVE LLC, remember to remain patient.

India is a third-world country and this is something you have to remember.

You will wait in long lines and India does not have all the conveniences you are used to in the United States.

At first you may feel like everyone is disorganized, but you have to understand this is just a new way of life for you.

You are out of place, not the people in India.

People in India are laid back and take it easy.

If you spend a lot of time getting worked up about the slow pace of life or the differences in India, you will never learn to love the country.

Relax and enjoy the experience!

When you move to India with IntlMOVE LLC, you will be one of the lucky few to immerse yourself in the Indian way of life.
